Dropped $50 on a meal prep service that sent me moldy veggies
I signed up for FreshPrep last month thinking it would save me time, but the first box had a slimy bag of spinach and a tomato with mold on it. They refunded me $10 after I complained, but I still lost $40 total on stuff I couldn't use. Has anyone else had bad luck with those cheap meal kit deals?

Jumping in here but isn't this kinda just what you sign up for with the cheapest option out there? I tried a similar meal kit deal last year and found a weird slimy cucumber, but I just picked it out and ate the rest of the stuff. They gave me a $5 credit and I moved on. It sucks you lost $40 but a refund for a little moldy spinach and a tomato seems like they gave you something at least.

@sean_barnes24 I hear you but $10 off a $50 box for moldy spinach and a rotten tomato is weak. That's basically a 20% refund for inedible food. They should have made it right with a full refund or a free box. A little mold on spinach isn't a little thing either, that's gross.

So you think $10 is fair for eating around rotten veggies?

Wait, did you just pick out the slimy stuff and eat around it? I had a similar thing happen with a box from a different company last month. Got a bag of salad that was basically brown sludge on the bottom and a tomato that was soft on one side. I just tossed the bad parts, rinsed the rest, and made my meal anyway. They gave me a $8 credit for the whole thing and I was fine with it. So yeah, $10 off for a couple bad items sounds fair to me if the rest of the box was fine. Sometimes you gotta just work with what you got.
