Last Thursday was the worst day I've had in years.

Three jobs went sideways in 5 hours. A pipe burst in a house I was rewiring near Denton, then my truck wouldn't start. Ended up eating a cold sandwich at 8pm in the parking lot. Has anyone else had a day where everything just collapsed at once?

Held it together until "cold sandwich" and then I just felt that.

Oh man, I was already getting a little choked up but "cold sandwich" just wrecked me completely. It took me right back to my grandma packing up leftovers for me after Sunday dinner, always wrapping them in foil with a little sticky note on top. She did that for years, even after I moved out, and I still have a few of those notes tucked in a drawer somewhere. Do you ever find old things like that and it just hits you all over again?

Well @hannahcraig I get why that cold sandwich moment hits so hard but I gotta say I see it a little different. That night in the parking lot I was just too tired to care what I was eating. I've had way worse days than that one. Remember last winter when I had to crawl under a trailer house in 18 degree weather to fix a frozen pipe? I ate gas station beef jerky for dinner that night. So a cold turkey sandwich from my own cooler felt like a step up honestly. Sometimes a bad day is just a bad day without needing to be something deeper.
