Lost power mid print at 47 percent and the whole spool of PETG went in the trash
Had a 14 hour print going on my Ender 3 and the power flickered at 2am during a storm, so the nozzle sat there cooking the same spot for who knows how long before I woke up. When I peeled it off the bed the whole bottom was warped and the inner walls looked like melted cheese, plus the spool had tangled itself when the extruder stopped pulling. Ended up grabbing a $28 UPS off Facebook Marketplace from a guy in Tempe and haven't lost a print since. Anyone got a better setup for longer jobs or is a battery backup just the move?
Heard a guy on a podcast say the power loss recovery on most Enders is kinda useless anyway cause it doesn't save the z height right, so the print restarts all janky. Battery backup seems like the only real fix unless you just avoid long prints at night. That UPS for 28 bucks was a solid grab.
