Paid $120 for a used pressure washer on FB Marketplace and it died in 20 minutes, ask me how I checked it wrong
Bought it from a guy in Garfield Park who demoed it in his driveway and it sprayed fine, so I handed over $120 cash without pulling the spark plug or checking the oil. Got it home, ran it for 20 minutes, and the motor seized up because the oil was basically sludge and he'd just topped it off right before I showed up. Lesson for anyone buying used tools: run it yourself for at least 5 minutes and look at the oil on the dipstick before you pay. Has anyone else bought a used power tool that seemed fine at the seller's place and fell apart at home?
