Spent $300 on a meal prep service and got 4 days of sad leftovers
I signed up for Freshly last month thinking it would save me time and money. After the intro discount, my first full week cost $85 for 8 meals. The portions were tiny, like kid sized, and half the meals had this weird soggy texture from the microwave. By day 4 I was ordering pizza anyway because I was still hungry. Total waste of $300 over 3 weeks before I canceled. Anyone else fall for these meal kit subscription traps?

Did you read that Consumer Reports article about meal kits last month? They found that most of them cost more than just buying groceries and cooking yourself, even with all the fancy discounts. I tried HelloFresh for a month and had the same problem with tiny portions, plus their chicken always had this weird rubbery texture no matter how I cooked it. It really is a trap, especially when you realize you could have made the same meals for half the price with a quick trip to the store.

My buddy tried Blue Apron and swore the beef smelled like old socks.

Old socks is generous, try leaving it in the fridge for three days.
