Stood in line at the DMV in Dayton for 3 hours and watched 9 people get turned away for one dumb reason
Went to renew my license at the Dayton DMV on Tuesday and the line wrapped past the door. A guy two spots ahead of me had a check for $23.50 but they only take cards now, so he had to leave. Same thing happened to a woman behind me with cash and a folder full of paperwork. By the time I got to the window I counted 9 people sent home over payment stuff. Why don't they put a sign up at the door saying card only?
Why would they put up a sign when the worker at the window can just tell you after you waited? Honestly, people should know by now that most places are card only. I get that it's annoying but a check for $23.50 in 2024? Come on. The DMV website probably says it right there when you look up what to bring. It's on YOU to check before you go, not on them to hold your hand at the door. I feel bad for the folks who lost their spot in line but this isn't some big mystery, just look it up on your phone before you leave the house.
