Warned my neighbor about a "deed lookup" trick on the county site, and it saved him $600
My neighbor almost paid a company $600 to pull his property records for a fence dispute, so I showed him the free county assessor site for Oklahoma County. It took about 4 minutes to find the plat map and the actual lot lines, which settled the fight before it went anywhere. If you're in a property argument with someone, check the free county records first and skip the middleman. Does anyone know if those paid services ever find stuff the county site misses, or is it all just dressed up public info?
