Why I stopped trusting my phone's calendar after the dentist mixup

Last Tuesday I showed up at Dr. Patel's office for a cleaning and they told me my appointment was actually for Thursday, I had it in my phone wrong the whole time. I always thought the calendar app was foolproof, guess that's what I get for typing it in while waiting for the bus. Ended up losing the $35 cancellation fee because I skipped the confirmation text they sent, that was the kicker. Now I double check every event against the paper reminder or the office's own system, way more reliable. Has anyone else had a phone calendar straight up lie to them like that, or am I just bad at tapping the right date?

The phone calendar didn't lie to you, you just tapped wrong. Those apps only store what you punch in, and if you're doing it half distracted on a bus, mistakes happen. I've done the same thing with my work schedule, typed in the wrong week cause I was looking at the month view weird. The real fix is what you're already doing, double check against the office's own system. Paper reminders work too, but honestly the confirmation text is the thing to never skip, that's your safety net right there.

Sunday, 2pm, and your app glitched on me twice, @hannah_west39, so no, not always user error.
