A guy at the Flagstaff star party told me my focus was soft, and he was right
Back in 2019 I was stacking shots of Andromeda at a dark site near Flagstaff and felt pretty good about them. An older guy glanced at my laptop screen and just said the stars looked like little blobs, not points, so I should check focus with a Bahtinov mask instead of eyeballing it. I picked one up for $22 and started zooming all the way in on a bright star before every session. Now I want to know how many of you still focus by feel versus using a mask or software.
