Blew $75 on a 'planetary filter kit' that only made my Jupiter shots worse
Bought one of those cheap 4-color filter sets on Amazon back in March thinking it would help cut the glare on Jupiter, and all it did was add a weird orange tint I had to fix in post. Ended up just stacking 500 frames without any filter and got a sharper result with my old $12 webcam. Has anyone found a filter that actually helps with planets, or is it all just a waste of cash?
That "weird orange tint" is the whole scam with those cheap kits, they just slap colored glass in a box. Save your cash and skip filters for planets, aperture and good seeing beat any of that stuff.
