Found the tiny Andromeda photo that sold me on my 90mm scope
Honestly, I spent the whole month of January hunting for anything decent with my old binoculars and got nothing but blur. Then one clear Tuesday night near my cabin outside Flagstaff, I tried a 30 second exposure with my phone held up to the eyepiece on a cheap 90mm refractor. The tiny smudge of Andromeda that showed up on screen just hit different, it looked like a real galaxy, not a textbook image. It made me realize I don't need a $2,000 rig to feel that sense of scale. Has anyone else had a so-so photo that convinced them to stick with a small scope over a bigger one?
