Hot take: I found a weird way to fix star trailing in my backyard shots
Everyone says you need a star tracker for exposures over 30 seconds, but I got a clean 45-second shot last week by stacking 15 short exposures in DeepSkyStacker. Has anyone else tried stacking instead of buying more gear?

Stacking short exposures is a total game changer for budget astro work. It saved me from buying a tracker last year when I was just starting out. Your results prove it's a solid way to get longer exposures without the extra gear.

Honestly I always thought stacking was just for deep sky objects, not fixing star trails. But your 45-second result makes me rethink that. I might try this with my old tripod before dropping cash on a tracker. Did you use any special settings in DeepSkyStacker to align everything so well?

Wait, you're really gonna try to fix star trails in software? That sounds like a headache, man.
