I finally got a clear shot of the Orion Nebula from my backyard in Boise
Honestly, I tried for three years to get a good picture of it, but my old camera just couldn't pick up enough light. Last month I saved up and bought a used Canon EOS Ra and it made all the difference. I stacked about 45 two-minute exposures and the colors just popped. Has anyone else around here had luck with that specific camera for deep sky stuff?

That's a serious upgrade from your old setup. Did you have to make any special changes to the camera settings, or was it pretty much ready to go? @elliot_roberts might be onto something about the cost, but the results look worth it.
