Shoutout to the astronomy club guy who told me to bin my exposures
Back in 2016 at the Austin star party a retired engineer said “just bin 2x2 and stop overthinking it” and he was completely right, my Andromeda shots went from mushy blobs to crisp detail in one night, anyone else get handed advice that sounded too simple but just worked?
Well, I wouldn't go rewriting my whole workflow over one guy's opinion. Binning is fine, but it's not magic, you know? Glad it worked for you, but I'd take that advice with a grain of salt.
