Was skeptical about those time-lapse star trail photos...
Always figured they were just fancy editing tricks until I tried one myself last month from my backyard in Flagstaff. After 3 hours of stacking 240 shots, the result looked exactly like the ones online... guess the magic is real. Has anyone else been surprised by how simple a good astro shot actually is?

Yeah the "nap and a snack break" thing is REAL. My buddy Mike tried this from his deck near Sedona, he set his camera up, went inside to "rest his eyes" for 20 minutes, and woke up three hours later with like 40 usable shots because a cloud bank rolled in. Had to redo the whole thing the next night with a timer and a really loud alarm on his phone.

No way, three hours?! I can barely sit still for a 10 minute exposure. That's some serious dedication.
