Appreciation post: finally hit the 10k mark on my home equity side project
I've been tracking how much value the small upgrades we did actually added, and after the basement refinish plus the new water heater, we crossed 10 grand in equity gains last week. Idk if that's typical for Atlanta right now, but it made the weekend DIY grind feel worth it. Has anyone else hit a number like this and gotten surprised by what actually moved the needle?

Painting the kitchen cabinets and swapping the builder-grade hardware pulled way more value than I expected. The place looked totally different for less than 800 bucks, and the appraiser actually called it out. It was a good reminder that the boring stuff like fixtures and finishes often outearn the flashy projects.
