Appreciation post: My neighbor showed me how to fix my own gutters

Had a clogged gutter last week. Water was pouring over the side. My neighbor Bob came over with a cheap gutter scoop and a garden hose. Showed me how to clear it in 10 minutes flat. Saved me $150 on a handyman visit. Anyone else got a neighbor who saved them cash?

Bob from two doors over did the same thing for me last year with my downspout. I had always figured gutter cleaning was one of those jobs you just had to pay for, like a pro knew some secret trick. Turns out it's just sticking a hose up there and working the clog out with a scoop. I spent years throwing money at handymen for something I could have done in a Saturday morning while listening to a ballgame.

$150 for a gutter clearing? That seems a little steep for a 10 minute job, lol. Guess it depends on how desperate you were.

That reminds me my dad tried to fix our gutters once and accidentally sprayed me with dirty water.
