Bought a $200 smart thermostat from Home Depot and went back to a $30 manual one within a week

The Nest looked real slick on the wall in my bungalow near Decatur but it kept arguing with my old HVAC setup. After three days of the AC kicking on at weird times and my wife about to lose it I swapped it out. That old mercury switch Honeywell I had in the garage? Works perfect every time no apps no wifi nothing. How many of yall have downgraded back to simple gear cause the tech just ain't worth the headache?

Totally feel your pain on that one, my smart lock did the same kind of crap to me.

Ngl @jordan_hill you're probably right that the smart lock thing is the same idea just with a door. Though tbh I think the difference is thermostats control something way more annoying to mess up like your whole house temperature. I'd rather have a cheap clicker that just works than stare at an app every time I'm too hot.
