Dropped $4,200 on a whole house generator in 2021 and it sat useless for 3 years
Back when that big ice storm hit Atlanta in 2014 we lost power for four days and I swore I would never deal with that again, so I finally pulled the trigger on a 22kW Generac install that set me back about $4,200 with the concrete pad and gas line run. It fired up twice in its first year, then nothing, and now I mostly just pay the annual service guy $180 to tell me it still works. Anybody else here got one of these sitting in the yard like a very expensive lawn ornament, or did yours come in handy more than mine?
