Heads up about that new roofing company working the Decatur area
So I was driving through Decatur near the square last Tuesday and saw this crew working on a house on Oakview. I stopped to ask them a quick question about my own gutters and the guy I talked to couldn't even tell me what kind of underlayment they were using. Then I noticed they were just nailing shingles over the old layer without tearing anything off. My neighbor used these same guys 3 months ago and already has a leak in his sunroom. The company name changes every few weeks too - I saw a different van with a different logo parked at the same house the next day. Just be careful if they knock on your door offering a deal, alright? Has anyone else run into these guys or had a bad experience with a fly-by-night crew in the area?

Man that's rough, good looking out for the neighborhood.

Can you imagine what would've happened if nobody stepped up?

Oh man, you're not kidding about these shady crews! I actually had one of those guys knock on my door last spring offering to "fix" a missing shingle for $50 cash. I let them up there because I'm a fool apparently, and the guy slipped and put his foot through my porch roof. Then he tried to charge me extra for the "repair" to the hole he made. I'm pretty sure I could have done a better job myself and I can barely hang a picture frame straight without making it crooked. Guess we all learn the hard way that if a deal sounds too good to be true, it comes with a free leak. Glad you caught that before the whole neighborhood got taken for a ride.
