Paid $400 for a crawlspace dehumidifier in Decatur, best money I've spent on this house
Our 1950s ranch in Decatur had that musty smell every summer and I kept putting off the fix. Dropped about $400 on a dehumidifier plus $150 for a handyman to run a drain line, and the smell was gone in four days. Anyone else deal with crawlspace moisture, did you go dehumidifier or encapsulation?

My buddy did the full encapsulation on his place in Grant Park and dropped like $8k, but he swears the dehumidifier alone would've handled it. Curious if you notice your power bill creeping up running that thing all summer?
