Unpopular opinion: the new HOA rules about grass height are actually making my lawn worse

Last week I got a warning for letting my Bermuda grow to 4 inches, but 3 years ago when I ignored the old 2-inch limit my yard stayed green through August, so who's really winning here - the guy with the brown patch or the one who waters three times a week just to keep it alive?

Oh come on, you're really blaming the HOA for your own watering habits? If you'd just water deeper and less often like everyone with half a brain does, your Bermuda would laugh at a 4 inch cut. That 2 inch limit was probably saving you from yourself by forcing you to scalp it and encourage root growth. You're upset because you got caught ignoring the rules before, but now you're trying to make it sound like the HOA is the problem instead of your lazy approach to lawn care. Follow the damn rules and water right, your yard will look fine.

Man that's rough, I feel for you dealing with an HOA that micromanages everything like that.
