Can we talk about the roaches coming up through the drain in my Midtown apartment last week
Tbh I want to warn folks in older Midtown buildings about this. Last Tuesday around 11pm I flipped on the bathroom light and saw a german roach crawl straight up out of my shower drain, and over 4 days I counted 6 more. Turns out my landlord never sealed the gap between the drain pipe and the concrete floor, so they were coming up from the shared plumbing in the crawl space. A guy from a pest company off Howell Mill told me this is super common in buildings built before 1980, and caulk plus a $15 drain cover fixed most of it. I'm still seeing one every few days though, so I'm not done yet. If anyone here has dealt with roaches coming from shared drains, what finally stopped them for you?
