Blew $200 on a 'premium' backup camera that lasted 3 months

I bought this fancy wireless backup camera off Amazon back in April for $190. Figured spending more meant it would hold up better in the Texas heat. By the end of July the screen started flickering and now it won't even power on. Tried their customer support and they wanted a video of the issue plus the serial number and proof of purchase - sent all that and they ghosted me. The wiring harness also got brittle and cracked after maybe 6 weeks. Anyone else had cheap electronics fail way faster than they should for the price?

Same pattern with everything now - appliances, tools, electronics. They're all built to fail right after the return window closes so you just buy another one instead of getting a fix.

Wiring harness got brittle and cracked after maybe 6 weeks" - man that is wild. I had almost the exact same thing happen with a $150 dash cam I got off some random site. The plastic housing literally crumbled in my hands after a few months, like it was made of old cheese or something. For $190 I'd expect at least a year or two before things start falling apart, especially the wiring. That's the part that's supposed to handle heat and vibration, not turn into dust. Customer support ghosting you after you jump through all their hoops is the cherry on top too.

Yeah $200 for three months of use? That's just insulting. The wiring cracking that fast tells me they used the cheapest plastic they could find. Hard lesson learned but some of these Amazon brands are straight up disposable junk.
