Guy at the parts counter in Tulsa laughed at me for asking about gear oil weight
Went to a shop over on 11th street to grab gear oil for my old Tacoma and the guy behind the counter literally laughed when I asked if 75w90 would work for my diff. He goes "you read that off a forum didn't you" and handed me a bottle of 80w90 without asking anything about how I drive or what my truck's been doing. I've been wrenching on my own stuff for a few years now and that still got under my skin. Its not like I was asking him to do the job for me, just wanted a second opinion before I dumped it in. Anyone else run into counter guys who'd rather make you feel dumb than just answer the question?
