My $15 heat gun made removing old auto decals actually doable
Spent an hour peeling a faded bumper sticker off my truck last month and it left a mess of sticky residue. Gave up, grabbed a cheap heat gun from Ace Hardware for $15, and the whole thing came off in 3 minutes flat. No scraping, no goo gone needed. Now I’m wondering if I should have just bought one years ago instead of fighting with a hairdryer. Anyone else find a cheap tool that saved a bunch of hassle on their vehicle?

Oh man, totally agree. I picked up a $12 heat gun from Harbor Freight just for a vinyl roof on my old van and now I use it for everything from peeling off registration stickers to softening up dried out trim clips. What else have you found it good for?

Oh man, that Harbor Freight special is a lifesaver! I use mine for warming up frozen door locks in winter (just a few seconds, careful not to melt anything) and for loosening up old bolts and screws that are seized with rust. Also great for shrink-wrapping a tarp over a load in the pickup bed, keeps it from flapping off.

Man those trim clips are the worst, I've saved so many plastic interior panels from cracking with mine too!
