Got 9 quotes for a move from Austin to Spokane and the spread was $1,850
I spent last Saturday filling out forms on five different sites and figured I would get maybe four real numbers back. Ended up with nine quotes for the same 1,200 mile route, and the low one was $1,340 while the high one wanted $3,190 for the exact same pickup window. The weird part was that two companies quoted me the same day and one was $900 more than the other with nearly identical terms. I logged all of them in a spreadsheet with the deposit amounts and cancellation fees next to each, which took maybe 20 minutes. Has anyone else seen a gap that wide on a route this size, or did I just get lucky with the low quote?
