Got a quote for $1,450 to ship my truck from Phoenix to Seattle, then the driver called with a weird catch
I filled out forms on one of those compare sites and the lowest bid was $1,450 from a broker out of Mesa, which sounded fine until the actual driver rang me two days before pickup and asked for $300 cash on top for "fuel." I called the broker back and they acted like that was normal, so I cancelled and rebooked directly with a small outfit out of Tacoma for $1,180 flat. Lesson learned: the cheapest number on the compare list is not the real number. Has anyone else had a driver spring extra fees on them at the last second?
