Got quoted $1,850 to ship my Civic from Denver to Portland, then the dispatcher called back 20 minutes later with a weird catch

I spent last Tuesday getting quotes from five different brokers for my 2014 Civic, and the first number back was $1,850 from a company out of Denver. Twenty minutes later the same guy calls back and says he can do $1,150, but only if I drop the car at a terminal in Commerce City instead of my apartment. I almost said yes just for the savings, then looked up the terminal and found three recent reviews complaining about cars sitting there for two weeks. Has anyone actually used a terminal drop to save money on a cross country haul, or is that just how they hook you?
