Unpopular opinion: comparing quotes is a waste of time if you skip the one question that actually matters
I called 7 brokers to ship my Civic from Phoenix to Seattle last spring and every single quote came in between $950 and $1,400, but the price told me nothing until I started asking each one if they were a broker or the actual carrier. The two cheapest quotes were brokers who farmed it out to whoever was available, so I want to know how many of you got burned by going with the low bid instead of the one who could name the truck.
