Watched a broker in Dallas quote my buddy $1,850 for a trip I booked for $1,100, so now I get 3 quotes minimum
Was helping my buddy move a Tacoma from Dallas to Denver last month when the broker on the phone tried to rush him into a deposit right then. Something felt off so I told him to hang up and we called two more places, and one quoted $1,100 flat with no deposit fuss. Now I refuse to book anything without at least 3 quotes and a written price, no exceptions. Has anyone else had a broker try to pressure them into paying up front before they'd even give a real number?

...pressure deposit means they're middlemen who can't lock a real carrier.
