Can we talk about how every B2B demo turns into a monologue

Sat through 3 vendor demos last week where they spent 40 minutes on features I didn’t ask about. Why do sales guys assume we want the full laundry list instead of just solving my one problem?

Blame the same instinct that makes people tell you their whole life story when you ask for directions.

Remember when I asked a guy at a gas station for the nearest coffee shop and he spent 10 minutes telling me about his ex-wife who used to work there? @felixhenderson that watch analogy hits close to home, I think some people just crave connection even over the smallest questions. Kinda makes you wonder if we'd all be better off just handing out maps and walking away.

Oh man, it's like asking "what time is it" and they start telling you how their watch broke last Tuesday. People just HAVE to fill every silence with their whole personal saga.
