Client told me my reports were 'too wordy' and it totally changed how I present data

I had a client last month who flat out said my 15 page weekly reports were overwhelming them. They said they just wanted the numbers, not three paragraphs explaining every tiny shift. So I cut everything down to a single page dashboard with just the key metrics and a short bullet point summary. They actually read it now and we have way better discussions about strategy. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made you totally rethink your deliverable format?

My old boss told me my reports had "too many words" so I switched to just numbers and one line takeaways too.

Yeah I had a similar thing with a client who literally told me my reports were "too pretty" - they just wanted the raw numbers not the fancy charts.
