PSA: Took me 3 days to get a simple vendor invoice fixed

Spent 45 minutes on hold with a B2B software vendor just to get a $150 billing error corrected. Then they said it was 'escalated' and I'd hear back in 5-7 business days. Has anyone else found a faster way to get these giant companies to fix simple mistakes without burning a whole week?

Yeah, that "escalated" part gets me every time. It's like code for "we're going to make you wait so long you'll forget you were mad." I had a similar thing where a vendor double charged me for a renewal and then told me it was being "reviewed by a specialist team." Three days later I called back and the person on the phone literally fixed it in 5 minutes. So now I just call back the next morning and pretend it's a new issue. Half the time you get someone who actually knows what they're doing and can just fix it on the spot without the whole song and dance.

The 5-7 business days thing always kills me. Like they need to mail a letter to a guy in a back room somewhere to flip a switch. At that point I just tell my accounts payable to dispute it and move on. These companies make you work harder for their $150 refund than you did to earn the $150 in the first place.

Feel you on this, @theajohnson - the fight for $150 back always costs way more in time and sanity than it should.
