Shoutout to that industry meetup in Austin last month
I was at a B2B services networking event at a coffee shop downtown and some guy mentioned using a simple spreadsheet tracker for client follow-ups instead of expensive CRM tools. Tried it the next week and it saved me about $80 a month. Anyone else find a cheap hack like that work better than the fancy stuff?

That "simple spreadsheet tracker" idea is actually way bigger than people realize. I've been doing something similar with a Google Sheet and a shared calendar, and it works BETTER than any CRM I've ever tried. The fancy tools overload you with features you never use, but a basic sheet with columns for name, last contact, and next step keeps me honest without the noise. You can even add color coding for urgency or hot leads, which gives you that visual pop without paying for a dashboard. Honestly, most of my clients now get faster replies because I see the tracker every morning instead of digging through some bloated app. It proves that good habits matter more than expensive software.

So does that sheet ever get messy when you're juggling more than like 20 contacts?
