Bought a $35 'ultralight' tent footprint that turned out to be a tarp with trail logos on it
So I picked up this footprint for my trip on the Superior Hiking Trail back in May, and it was a joke. The listing said it was cut to fit my tent and weighed 4 ounces. What showed up was a square of crinkly plastic with a printed trail map on it, no grommets, no corners, nothing. I tried staking it out anyway at the campsite past Finland, MN and it flapped all night like a trash bag in a wind tunnel, plus it ripped at the edge where I shoved a stake through. I ended up sleeping on my sleeping pad directly on wet ground and my back was soaked by morning. Total waste of 35 bucks plus shipping, and I had to mail it back to get a partial refund. Now I just trace my tent floor on a piece of Tyvek from the hardware store and cut it myself for about 4 dollars. Anyone else get burned by a footprint that wasn't even shaped like the tent it claimed to fit?
