Got chased by a goat on the Lost Coast Trail last weekend

I was hiking the Sinkyone section near Needle Rock and this big goat just appeared, then started trotting after me for like a half mile. I had to climb up on a rock and wait it out for 15 minutes before it got bored. Has anyone else had random wildlife decide you're their enemy on a trail?

Oh man, that goat story is too familiar. I had the same thing happen on the Lost Coast a few years back near the Mattole River campground. This one white goat with a bell on its neck just locked eyes with me and started following me down the beach. I tried to ignore it, but it kept getting closer, so I ended up scrambling up this steep, muddy bank and waited until it wandered off to chew on some grass. I swear those goats have a personal grudge against hikers, especially if you're carrying food or have a bright backpack.

Bruh I had a white goat with a bell too up near King's Canyon last summer. Same thing, it just stared me down for like 10 minutes while I was eating a granola bar. I swear they can smell food from a mile away, my buddy had a bright orange osprey pack and that goat wouldn't leave him alone. We finally had to pack up and hike up this loose talus slope just to get away, and the goat just stood there chewing grass like it won the encounter. Those goats are straight up territorial little jerks, I'm convinced they've got a hive mind or something.
