Duct tape everything and hope the bears respect your effort.

Honestly the smell of the adhesive might attract them more than it keeps them out.

My buddy's glue trap just fed a mouse family for a week.

I mean, duct tape is fine, but I've had way better luck with a splint made from a stick and some zip ties.
