Spent $200 on a satellite messenger for the Wind River Range and it was the best call I ever made.
I took a nasty fall off-trail near Cirque of the Towers last August, and being able to send an SOS for a helicopter evac instead of trying to crawl out over 15 miles of rough terrain is the only reason I'm typing this now.
