You said "comfy couch" and that got me thinking. Actually, my buddy Mark tried to do that whole trail life thing a couple years back, you know, the big dream. He lasted about three weeks before his knees gave out, and then someone offered him a temp gig managing a gear shop in town. So he took it, and now he spends his days selling hiking boots to people who actually finish the trails, @josephbailey. He always jokes that he found his true calling sitting behind a counter instead of sleeping on the ground. So yeah, sometimes the couch wins, but at least he's still got dirt under his nails from unpacking boxes of tents.
