TIL the hard way that extra water weight breaks down boots fast

Carried 6 liters through the Superstitions last March thinking it was smart, but my boots delaminated within 40 miles and I lost $140 on a pair that should've lasted seasons, anyone else wreck gear by overpacking hydration?
