My pond pump quit during the July heat wave and I lost 4 goldfish before I noticed
Went out to feed the fish on a Sunday morning about 3 weeks ago and the water was green and still, which never happens. Turns out the pump died sometime Friday night and I never heard it stop because the waterfall noise just faded out while I was inside with the AC running. Lost 4 goldfish before I got a backup aerator running, and now I'm paranoid about checking the flow every single day. The pump was only 2 years old, which feels way too short for a $90 unit. Do you all run two pumps or just keep a spare on the shelf for when one dies?
