Tried barley straw on my green pond and the water got worse
Dropped a barley straw bundle in my 800 gallon koi pond three weeks ago after a neighbor swore by it, and now the water looks like split pea soup instead of just cloudy. My test kit shows the ammonia is fine, so I'm guessing I added it too late in the season when the algae was already going strong. Has anyone had this stuff backfire, or do I just need to wait it out longer?
