3 years ago my backyard shed became an accidental bird hotel

I built a small storage unit in my backyard near Austin back in 2021 for my gardening tools. Left the door cracked open one afternoon and a family of sparrows moved in before I noticed. Took me 2 full weekends to clean out all the nesting material they hauled in.

Is it just me or do they think the peanuts and suet cakes are actually their rent payments? I've got a couple jays that have been hanging around for like four years now and they still act like they own the place. They'll literally scream at me through the kitchen window if I'm late with the feeder refill.
