Appreciation post: My shed organization system finally held up for a full year

Honestly, I built a whole wall of pegboard and labeled bins in my 8x10 shed last spring, thinking it would get messy again by fall. Ngl, I just went out there today and everything is exactly where it should be, even after a rough winter. Has anyone else had a storage setup actually work out long-term like this?

My neighbor's garage system lasted three years, same idea.

Three years is actually pretty decent for a DIY garage setup. Read an article a while back that said the main killer is moisture and temperature swings. Those conditions wreck cheap electronics. Your neighbor probably got lucky with the parts or had a really dry garage. Most off the shelf stuff isn't built for that environment at all. It's a gamble that sometimes pays off for a few years.

Yeah I used to think it was all about the parts, but that article about moisture really changed my mind.

Used to believe it was just about buying the right parts too. That moisture article was a total eye-opener for me. It explains why my buddy's setup fried after one humid summer, even with decent components. The environment really is the silent killer.
