Cheap shelf brackets finally gave out after 14 months of abuse
The plastic brackets on my storage shelf snapped last Tuesday when I was loading a 30 pound box of potting soil. I bought them for $12 at the big box store thinking they'd hold up fine. Nope. The whole left side sagged and dumped everything onto my rain barrel. I replaced them with steel ones for $18 and added a 2x4 support beam underneath for good measure. Anyone else learn the hard way that plastic brackets just don't cut it for heavy yard stuff?
