Found out the hard way that a $30 tarp shed wrap doesn't hold up in a Texas storm
Back in February I grabbed a cheap heavy duty tarp off Amazon to wrap my plastic shed after a nasty crack formed on the side. Figured it'd buy me a year or two until I could afford a new one. Well that storm two weeks ago in Austin ripped it clean off and left the whole shed exposed to rain for three days. Everything inside got soaked, including my lawn tools that are now rusting. Learned that cheap fixes for backyard storage almost always cost more in the long run. Anyone else tried a tarp fix and had it fail or actually work out?

Yeah same thing happened to me with a cheap tarp on my shed in Houston lol. Ended up upgrading to better fittings and some bungee cords before the next storm hit.

Gotta push back a little on that though. A cheap tarp can totally work if you just double up on the grommets and use some heavy duty stakes instead of the little ones they come with. The key is prep work, not price tag (and maybe a few extra bungees for good measure).

Gotta agree that cheap tarps are a total waste of money honestly. They rip apart in the first gust of wind and you end up spending twice as much replacing them anyway. Upgrading the fittings and adding bungee cords is the only way to go if you actually want it to stay put. I learned that lesson after my tarp flew into my neighbor's yard during a storm lol. Just not worth the hassle to go cheap on something that has to hold up against weather like that.
