Hot take: those plastic deck boxes I made fun of for years are actually great

I used to walk past them at the hardware store and roll my eyes. Figured they were overpriced junk for people who didn't know how to build real storage. Then my neighbor Deb got one for $120 at Lowe's last spring and I watched it survive two winters, a fallen branch, and her kid standing on top of it. It's still like new. I built a wooden bench with hidden storage that's already rotting in the corner. Starting to think I was the dummy here. Anyone else have a product they trashed talk-wise that turned out solid?

Whoa, hold on. Your Deb's deck box survived a kid standing on it and a fallen branch? That's insane. I would have bet money those things would crack or dent in a stiff breeze. I've been so quick to trash talk them too, always thought they were just ugly plastic junk. Maybe I really need to rethink my whole storage strategy.
