My neighbor built a shed 3 feet onto my property last summer

Found it when I went to put up a fence two months ago. He says he's had it for a year and it's mine to deal with. Do you fight to get the land back or just let it go and adjust your own shed plans?

but like, have you actually checked your property survey? that's step one here lol. i mean, if the survey clearly shows his shed is on your land, then him saying "deal with it" is kinda wild. you could let it slide but then you're just setting a precedent that he can take your land whenever he wants. i'd be getting the survey out and maybe even talking to a real estate lawyer just to know where you stand.

Yeah but did you actually walk the property line with him while looking at the survey? lol. I feel like that would settle it real quick if you're both standing there looking at the same piece of paper and the same piece of land. Morgan is right that you gotta know your exact boundary before you do anything. If it's even a few inches onto your property that changes everything. What did the survey say exactly?

Friend had a similar thing with a neighbor's fence. Lawyer fixed it quick.
