Plastic vs metal shed base - which actually holds up in wet ground?

I put in a plastic grid shed base two years ago and last month I noticed the corners are starting to sink. Neighbor has the same size shed on a metal frame base and his is fine after 4 years. I thought plastic would last longer since it doesn't rust but now I'm not so sure. Anyone else seen this difference? Which one held up better for you?

My neighbor used a plastic base on his 12x10 shed and it's sinking too after three winters. I've been noticing this a lot lately actually... it's like how people buy those plastic deck boxes thinking they'll last forever but then the hinges break. Plastic just doesn't hold up to constant pressure and moisture over time. The ground moves and shifts and plastic grids don't have the rigidity to fight back. Metal might rust eventually but at least it keeps its shape while ground settles. Reminds me of how people choose plastic furniture for patios because it's cheap but then wonder why it cracks after two seasons. Sometimes the "old school" solutions work better for a reason.

Did you level the ground right before putting the plastic base down?

Totally sunk my own shed decision, guess I'm not a ground-breaking genius.
